Cookies, Sour Cream Sugar 

Perfectly flavored moist and light sugar cookies.

1 1/2 c sour cream
Sprinkles or sugar for topping

Icing:  2 egg whites
3 c powdered sugar
1/2 t vanilla
2 1/2 c sugar
1 1/2 c unsalted butter
3 eggs
1 T vanilla
9 c flour
1 T baking powder
1 1/2 t soda
1 t salt
1 t nutmeg

In mixer bowl with cookie paddles mix sugar, butter, eggs and vanilla until light and fluffy.  Stir in remaining ingredients and mix well.  Divide dough into fourths.  Roll out each part 1/4 inch thick on floured surface.  Cut with cookie cutters and place on UNGREASED baking sheet.  Sprinkle with sprinkles or sugar, or leave plain for icing.  Bake 400* about 6-8 minutes, or until very lightly golden.  Cool on racks.
For icing, beat egg whites with whip until frothy, then beat in sugar and vanilla until smooth.  Can tint icing with food coloring.  Brush icing on cooled cookies with pastry brush. Let icing dry then cookies can be carefully stacked in containers.
